Mar Sánchez

Mar Sánchez is a Spanish composer, guitarist, singer, and bandleader. She received her formal musical training in the city of Barcelona and holds a degree from the Liceu Conservatory of Music. She has combined studies in Classical Music with Modern Music and Jazz at institutions like ESMUC, Royal Welsh College of Music, and Taller de Músics.
Mar has led bands ranging from rock to black music, performing classical music, chamber music, and contemporary music. She has composed in genres such as flamenco, rock, jazz, blues, classical music, and contemporary music. She has also collaborated consistently with other artistic disciplines, such as dance, theater, performance, and painting.
With 30 years dedicated to the guitar, Mar Sánchez has built a unique career that blends technical virtuosity, creative passion, and an unending curiosity for the boundaries of music. Originally from El Viso del Alcor, Seville, her musical identity draws from Andalusian roots, yet expands into a global spectrum that encompasses flamenco, blues, classical, and contemporary music.
