Marcus Åblad

Marcus Åblad (Switchblade) of Nestor was born in 1975 in Skövde Sweden on a cold winter night. Marcus was raised in a small town outside Falköping (aka The ghost town). The musical journey for Marcus started in his early years. Both his mum and dad where really interested in listening to music. One of Marcus first musical memories is waking up in the middle of the night with his mum blasting the sweet tunes of ELO's Rockaria on the family stereo, from that moment Marcus was totally blown away by and hooked to music.
The start of his career as a bass player all comes down to his brother, who had a band, but no band member volunteering for the four string, faith stepped in and Marcus journey in the world of bass begun.
Marcus played in various bands in his youth in the late 80's, until 1989, when a Falköping based band called Nestor approached him with an offer to join forces, Marcus said yes without even taking a breath to hesitate. The guys asking were Tobias, Jonny, Martin and Mathias. And since that day back in 1989 the line-up of Nestor has been the same five guys.

Today Marcus and Nestor are playing shows around the world. With an inspiration of all that is music, and influences from all the great bands and performers, Nestor's goal is to restore the glory of rock and play louder and faster than ever done before. To this date two album are released, Kids in a ghost town and Teenage Rebel.
