LOguitarist

A music graduate from International College of Music, with over 20 years of experience in playing bands and music production, LOguitarist (AKA. LO) is a big fan of PROG and Math-rock, the guitar-driven genres that dominate the Gen Y and Z in the current age.

In 2022, LO released a Prog-metal and Math-rock instrumental album 'Point Zero Gravity', which shocked the musicians' world in Malaysia, quoted by many "never thought someone in the local scene could achieve that". The album tells the story of how a metaphorical gravity led LO back to his roots as a guitarist to rebuild his musical universe.

To have a standing in the social-media age, LO picked up the camera and single-handedly shot a huge catalogue of guitar covers, music videos for his album 'Point Zero Gravity', and in 2023 gave birth to 'FREEDOM', a series of short guitar videos incorporating landscape cinematography.

Born out of the FREEDOM series, 'Exponential' is a Gen-Z inspired genre-bending and forward-thinking guitar instrumental EP. Included in the EP is 'Running All 8', the first song LO composed with his first 8-string guitar (Ibanez RGDMS8). The blending of technical and yet melodic guitar playing with hybrid trap beats creates a pathway to an unventured soundscape, marking the next-stage of musical innovation.

In the past, LO was a film composer working with Syafiq Yusof (Misteri Dilaila, Abang Long Fadil, Polis Evo) and an award-winning music arranger (Z Yan's jazz album 'Romancing Asia'; Arvan). Putting behind a successful career, LO is in the next phase of his sonic pathfinding quest, making a dead set on becoming a god tier guitarist with his genre-bending and ever-evolving virtuosic playing.
