BIOGRAPHY

Robbin Blanco began his musical studies at his hometown Merida, Yucatan, electric guitar with the teachers Lorenzo Esquivel and classical guitar with Ricardo Vega in the José Jacinto Cuevas Music Center. He graduated as a soloist at the Superior School of Music at the National Center for the Arts in Mexico City with teacher Josefina Robles. Later he completed his master's studies with teacher Álvaro Perri at the Laval University in Quebec, Canada where he graduated with the highest honours.
He has taken masterclasses with the teachers like: Steve Vai, Sylvain Luc, Roland Dyens, Eugene Toussaint, Sergio Assad, Scott Tennant, Gabriel Hammel, Kenny Bibace, Juan Carlos Laguna, among others.
He has given concerts in different countries like: Germany, Argentina, Austria, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Spain, the United States, France, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the United Arab Emirates. His multifaceted career has made him participate in various festivals of Classical, Jazz, Rock, World, Rock and Pop in venues such as: National Theater (Costa Rica), Fine Arts (Mexico), Oscar Peterson Hall (Canada), National Auditorium, Metropolitan Theater (Mexico), World Trade Center of Dubai (United Arab Emirates), House of Blues and Microsoft Theater (EU), to name a few. His repertoire includes programs for classical and electric as a soloist, duos, chamber music, orchestras, tango, rock, and original compositions.

Awards:
- 2nd place at the "XXVII National Competition of guitar players" Paracho, Michoacán, Mexico.
- 1st place at the "XIV International Festival and Competition of guitar virtuosity "in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico.
- 1st Place at the VII National Guitar Competition, an homage to Ernesto Cordero" in Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico, considered the most important guitar competition in Mexico.
- 2nd place at the "IV International Guitar Competition" in Burgos Spain.
- 2nd place at the "Concerts Competition" of the "Escuela superior de Música" in Mexico City.
- With the group Tango Nuevo, they won in the TANGO FUSION festival in Mar de Plata, Argentina.
- Winner to be part of the CD recording at the Université Laval in Quebec, Canada.
- Two-time winner of the scholarship of excellence awarded by Université Laval, Quebec, Canada.
- STATE YOUTH AWARD, Delivered by the Yucatan's Governor, Yucatan, Mexico.

As a teacher, he has been invited to give master classes and be a judge at music competitions in different universities and conservatories. He has been a professor at the Académie de Musique de Montréal and he currently teaches bachelor's degree in electric guitar, classical guitar and contemporary-rock-pop groups at "Escuela de Bellas Artes de la universidad Panamericana" in Mexico City.
In the field of improvisation and composition, the media has described as "a creative musician who spreads his adrenaline with his music, there are ideas combined, it sounds like jazz, rock and classical music, although the last one is more present in the melodically sound technique of the guitar through improvisations, energy, musicality and virtuosity "Diario de Yucatán.
As part of his multi-faceted rock-pop-contemporary facet he has performed in national and international tours with artists such as: Amanda Miguel, Diego Verdaguer, Alejandra Guzmán, Mónica Naranjo, Marta Sánchez, among others.
He currently do projects: as a soloist, in recitals with ensembles, orchestras and repertoire for classical guitar and original compositions for solo guitar, ROBBIN BLANCO 3, fusion project with original compositions with Sergio Aguilar on bass and Kike Escalante on drums, DUTANGO, contemporary duo with piano and guitar with pianist Julia Valero, performing arrangements by Piazzolla, Mederos, Salgán, Villoldo, Gardel, among other masters of the tango, MX GUITAR DUO with the guitarist Omán Kaminsky, with whom they have presented concerto madrigal by Joaquin Rodrigo with one of the most important orchestras in Mexico, the OFUNAM, with the director Sergio Cárdenes and GUITAR WARS PROJECT, guitar duo with Canadian musician Sébastien Moreau presenting original arrangements of the music of John Williams.
