BIOGRAPHY
Giovanni Scardoni began his musical career at the age of 10 taking private lessons in classical guitar. At age 12, he started playing electric guitar under the guidance of Andrea Sarasini (CSM Academy) and Cristian Montagnani (Academy of Modern Music). In the following years, he attended the Lizard Academy studying with Andrea Martongelli and Daniele Valle. During this time, his interest for guitar virtuosity and technical genres increased while developing a more blues-jazz approach as well.
In 2008, he began his degree course in Disciplines of Art, Music and Entertainment in Padua graduating with honors in december 2012.
In 2009 he started a partnership with Lizard Academy, the music school he studied at for years, hosting clinics and masterclasses about the playing styles of great electric guitar virtuosos like Yngwie Malmsteen, Nuno Bettencourt and others.
He played and recorded with various Italian bands and musical projects including Chrome Steel (Judas Priest tribute), Rider's Bone (hard rock), Ground Control (thrash groove metal) and Animae Silentes (goth metal), often touring around Europe.
In 2016, he took part in guitar competitions organized by Ibanez as well as other guitar manufacturers. He won the first prize of the European edition of the 2016 Ibanez Flying Fingers Guitar Contest; in 2017, he also won the Jam of the Month contest promoted by Jam Track Central.
