BIOGRAPHY

Every bit the modern recording artist, Keegan's unique playing and feel for tone have earned him infamy in the local and international music communities, not only as a member of New Zealand's most prolific instrumental act Heavy Metal Ninjas but also in his own endeavors as an independent artist and session player.

Since joining the ranks of the Ninjas alongside Richie Allan back in 2013, Keegan has moved between roles - initially assuming the moniker of "Stunt Guitarist" before shape-shifting into the band's "6 String Bass Ninja", further proving his versatility and penchant for fretboard-flash throughout local and international tours. 2016 finds Keegan returning to slinging 8 string guitars for HMN, pending their highly anticipated 3rd studio release.

Keegan is a long time Ibanez player and watching him play, the reasons for this quickly become evident. He hails from the "old-school" era of guitar heroes, with strong influences coming from the likes of Marty Friedman, Paul Gilbert, Jason Becker and "Dimebag" Darrell. Despite this, Keegan's playing style and approach to melody are undoubtedly his own and are showcased in his multitude of session works and original compositions.
