CONTROLS
DESCRIPTION
With the bass held in the playing position, there are two knobs located toward the back of the body, near the input jack. The top knob of the stacked controls, located toward the lower edge of the body, is the treble boost/cut, and the bottom knob is the bass boost/cut. The knob next to the mini-toggle switch is the mid boost/cut. There are two additional knobs along the lower edge of the body. The knob closest to the neck is the volume knob, and the knob between the volume control and the stacked controls is the pickup blend. Directly above these knobs is the EQ bypass switch. When this switch is in the neck position, the EQ is off. When the switch is in the bridge position, the EQ is on. When the EQ is off, the treble boost/cut knob functions as a passive tone control.

FREQUENCY RESPONSE
DESCRIPTION
The bass boost/cut frequency curve has a peak at 20 Hz, the variable width becomes smaller toward the high range, and the variable width becomes zero at about 1000 Hz. The variable range becomes slightly larger in the high range than around 1000 Hz, but it becomes zero again near 5000 Hz. The variable range of the peak frequency is approximately ±15 dB. The treble boost/cut frequency curve draws a mountain-shaped curve with a peak at around 10,000 Hz and zero variable range around 100 Hz. The variable range of the peak frequency is approximately ±15 dB. The mid-boost/cut frequency curve creates a bell-shaped curve with a peak around 450 Hz, and the variable width becomes zero near 20 Hz and around 10,000 Hz. The variable range of the peak frequency is approximately ±15 dB.

Medium frets
Medium sized frets enhance the accuracy of your notes.

The Okoume body provides a bright and solid sound.

α1 pickups deliver ultimate tonal clarity and openness with abundant mids and lows, popular characteristics among modern bass tones.

Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ w/EQ bypass switch (passive tone control on treble pot)
The Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ is our latest refinement on the concept of simple, straightforward, no-nonsense EQ control. The Boost and Cut for the Mid Control are each centered on slightly different frequencies, an innovation that delivers a preset range of the most favorable bass tones.
The EQ bypass control offers precision tonal adjustments, including a switch to choose passive-only operation. When the EQ bypass is activated, the treble tone control knob becomes the global tone control for the passive circuit.

Ergonomic body design
The EHB’s headless construction and specially designed body enable the player to maintain a similar playing position whether seated or standing.

Slanted body back
The top half of the back of the body is slanted which allows the bass to rest slightly closer to the player’s body for better control and a more ergonomic feel.

Ibanez custom headpieces
Rugged yet light-weight Ibanez custom headpieces enable strings to be easily set and released by a hex wrench from the back side.

Comfortably rounded body edge, Chambered body
Its contoured, ergonomic design and chambered body make for a lightweight, well-balanced, and comfortable instrument that’s excellent for long sets or practice session.

Scooped cut on the body back
There is extra carving on the back of the body behind the lower horn for easier upper fret access.

MR5HS mono rail bridge w/string spacing adjustable saddles
The MR5HS bridge is designed especially for the EHB basses and features wide intonation range. Each bridge piece is independently and securely attached to the body for maximum vibration transfer, and the saddles are adjustable for string spacing +/-1.5mm, answering every bassist’s individual string spacing demands, no matter what playing style. Teflon washers are used on each tuner for a smooth tuning action.

Jatoba Fretboard
Jatoba has a reddish brown color which produces a rich mid range with a crisp high end.
