Mehmet Özkeleş

Mehmet Özkeleş is a Turkish guitarist, music educator, composer, producer, and audio engineer whose work spans rock, blues, progressive rock, fusion, and contemporary music. He started playing guitar at the age of 10 and has since developed a multidisciplinary career combining live performance, music production, audio engineering, and academic research.
Özkeleş began his formal music education at Adana Fine Arts High School, Department of Music, later earning his bachelor's degree in Music Education from Harran University. He completed his master's degree in Music Sciences and Technologies at İnÖnü University and received his PhD in Music Sciences from Akdeniz University. His academic work focuses on music technologies, recording techniques, mixing, mastering, audio engineering, and analog/digital audio processing systems.
Alongside his academic career, Özkeleş has actively performed in concerts, festivals, orchestral projects, and live events both as a solo guitarist and with various music ensembles. His musical approach combines expressive melodic phrasing with modern guitar techniques, drawing influence from classic rock, progressive rock, jazz fusion, and contemporary production aesthetics.
As a producer, arranger, mix/mastering engineer, and composer, he has worked on numerous studio productions and collaborative projects across different musical genres. He has also published academic articles and research papers focusing on analog and software-based audio processing systems and contemporary music production techniques.
In addition to his artistic and production work, Mehmet Özkeleş has served as a Lecturer Doctor in university-level music education, teaching electric guitar and related contemporary music performance courses. His educational work combines academic discipline with modern performance and production approaches.
Mehmet Özkeleş has been playing Ibanez guitars for many years and considers them an essential part of both his live and studio work. He describes Ibanez instruments as highly versatile guitars offering exceptional playability, tonal flexibility, precision, and expressive freedom.
Currently, Mehmet Özkeleş continues his artistic, academic, and production work in Turkey while actively performing, teaching, producing music, and participating in educational and professional music projects.
