Tay Grace H

Tay Grace H is a rising bassist from North London, known for her dynamic presence and contemporary jazz sensibility. She has been playing bass since she was 14, originally starting out on violin at age 8, and then piano at 13, before finally finding her love for the bass. She will never forget her dad's inspiring words :"The world needs more female bassists”

She quickly developed a deep-rooted passion for sound and expression, and knew this was what she wanted to do in her life. Tay also leads a six-piece band called Vitality, where she blends groove-driven bass lines with modern jazz influences - they've had opportunities to play in prestigious venues such as Ronnie Scott's and World Heart Beat.

Alongside her work as a band leader, Tay is an in-demand session bassist and has performed with acclaimed artists including Moses Boyd, Amahla, Hak Baker, and more. Her live performances showcase both musical depth and infectious energy, making her a standout voice on the UK bass scene. Her talent on the low-end instrument has given her opportunities to play around the world in places such as Slovakia, Portugal, and New York, to name just a few.
