Hilmi Gantara

Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, Hilmi Gantara started playing guitar at the age of nine. Inspired by his father and older brother who were both skilled guitarists, Hilmi found the instrument cool, practical, and easy to play anytime and he hasn’t stopped ever since.
His journey began through various school band festivals, which eventually led him into the professional music scene as a session guitarist during high school.
In addition to his work as a session player, Hilmi is also active behind the scenes, recording guitars, writing songs, and producing music. Throughout his career, he has performed with numerous Indonesian artists including HIVI!, Rizky Febian, Marcell, Soulvibe, Sal Priadi, Raissa A, Shakira J, Devano, and many others.
Hilmi has performed across nearly all major islands in Indonesia, and internationally in Singapore, where he performed with Jinan L as part of the opening act for Coldplay’s 2024 concert.
He currently plays the Ibanez AZ Premium AZ26P1, which perfectly represents his versatile style that blends pop, R&B, neo-soul, funk, and rock.
