BIOGRAPHY

Difficult to summarize the career of Patrick RONDAT as it is rich in musical encounters. Coming from the hard rock scene of the 80s, he is particularly famous in the instrumental metal.
He participates in the compilation "Hard Rock rendez-vous" (1989 vogue) which makes him known to the public; then begins a French tour with Blue Oyster Cult, then the release of his first solo album "Just For Fun" which confirms its position as leader of the metal instrumental.
He begins a turning point with "Rape of the Earth" (vogue / music for nation 1991 his first two albums distributed internationally and he participates in the famous live show Radio 1-BBC London) in which the technique still present but serves more mature compositions and accomplished where musicality occupies a capital place. In addition to his solo career, Patrick works with other artists. The meeting with Jean-Michel Jarre in 1991 opens other musical horizons. After his participation in MONSTERS OF ROCK of rock (ac / dc, Metallica, queensryche, etc.) he began to work with Jean-Michel recording the album "chronology" and led him to participate in an impressive series of concerts in Paris. around the world including those of Wembley in 1993 and the March field in 1995 will remain in his memory.
This meeting will also lead to the recording of "Amphibia" (FDM 1996) produced by Jean-Michel, he is accompanied by Tommy Aldridge and Patrice Guers. This album continues the musical change present in "Rape of the Earth" where compositions of progressive influences are affirmed. An adaptation of Vivaldi's presto will be a milestone (Vivaldi tribute).
Other artists cross Patrick's path on various occasions, Tony Mac Alpine, Simon Philipps, Steve Lukather, Stu Hamm. (Cannes music passion) and Gary Moore (BBM) which he ensures the first part at the Zenith of Paris without forgetting the invitation of Joe Satriani to participate in the 1998 G3 tour with Michael Shenker, for 14 unforgettable concerts.
In 1999 released "On the Edge" (FDM) transition album, where Patrick explores other musical worlds, alongside Patrice Guers and Tommy Aldridge, are invited two prestigious guests Didier Lockwood and Michel Petrucciani.
During this period he began a collaboration with the English singer Ian Parry, participating in the consortium project. He recorded two albums then participated in the European tour with Patrice Guers (who will join Rhapsody a few years later) Dirk Bruinenberg (Elegy drummer and who will become from that moment the drummer of Patrick) Stefan Lill and Gunter Verno (Vanden Plas)
After this positive experience, Patrick joins the Dutch group "Elegy" for two albums followed by a tour around the world will follow.
Jean-Michel Jarre invites him on new concerts: Monaco Gdansk, Beijing; Athens, it's time for Patrick to prepare his new solo album "An Ephemeral World" (2004 NTS) concept album evoking our culture of the ephemeral. Considered by many as his most successful album, he confirms his qualities as an outstanding composer and instrumentalist.
Then followed a hexagonal tour with the band Freak Kitchen,; the arrival of Manu Martin on the keyboards consolidates the group spirit.
The meeting with the classical pianist Hervé N'KAOUA was born in 2008 a collaboration of another type which requires rigor and humility. By mixing often opposing universes. This duo offers a new lighting on sonatas for piano and violin (Faure Beethoven) but also pieces for orchestra (A Vivaldi's Winter) the recording of this album is followed by concerts in France and Italy
In 2009, XIII bis records released a 5-CD box chronicling his career (Just for fun, Rape of the Earth, An ephemeral world, Herve N'Kaoua -Patrick Rondat, (Unpublished live channel 93 -2005)
For more than twenty years, Patrick has also devoted himself to teaching that he considers essential to transmit and share his musical heritage. Thus He animates internships, master classes in France and abroad.
He has also been a regular speaker at MAI (music academy international) for more than 15 years
After recording an instructional DVD (1997 virtuosity and velocity), he published a Songbook containing the complete scores of 8 tracks and a CD playback at Carisch Musicom in 2010
Patrick is currently working on a new album with the musicians who have been with him for several years, patrice Guers / bass, dirk Bruinenberg / drums, manu Martin / keyboards. And it is with the latter that he has just set up an acoustic duo, piano / acoustic guitar.
