Onur Ataman

Onur Ataman is a professional jazz guitarist, educator and a composer. A graduate of the Royal Conservatory, the Netherlands, he continued his education for PhD in Leiden University, The Netherlands after master degree. During his study, he traveled whole Europe and played with various artist and venues in the Netherlands and Europe. Ataman has released two studio albums to date.
He has also recorded and toured with a wide variety of other artists.

His guitar playing technique and his compositions have been influenced by various genres of music. Ataman's style is a colorful and unique blend of good old jazz traditions and his personal vision created with a modern approach. His harmonic and melodic language is influenced by the great jazz and fusion artists such as Wayne Shorter, Joe Zawinul, Miles Davis, Allan Holdsworth, Scott Henderson and Pat Metheny.

He has been playing Ibanez guitars since the beginning of his career. He owns Ibanez Prestige series guitars and AZ models, which Ataman describes as "the ultimate guitars to own in this world". Ibanez guitars are not only guitars but they also have a unique way of sounding and expressing musical toughts and ideas in a very soulful way.

Ataman currently gives seminars, workshops and lessons to a large groups of people all around Europe and Turkey under the name "Jazz & Innovations". Ataman is a TedX speaker and Head of Istanbul Enka Schools Music Department since 2020.
