Named for the royal blue waters of Zuma Beach in Malibu, This RG was designed as a reissue of another historical Ibanez series also manufactured in the United States: The U.S.A. Custom series. As with the American Master series, Tak Hosono, our master luthier, was also heavily involved with the U.S.A Custom series. The guitar itself utilizes a simpler design, comparatively speaking, than many of the other instruments in the 50th Anniversary Collection. It features a very thick Quilted Maple top on a Mahogany body, as well as a Maple neck and fingerboard with white fingerboard binding and mother of pearl block inlays. The inspiration for this instrument was redefining the fundamentals of what makes an RG so unique. Looking at the specs alone, you might not see anything unusual, however, when combined, these tried-and-true Ibanez design elements yield an instrument with enthralling artisan appeal and just the right amount of aesthetic pop.
