Mark Bogert

Mark Bogert was born on November 8 1983. At the age of seven he got in touch with music, though this was not the guitar yet. Mark started playing the trumpet first. Aged twelve he discovered the guitar. From that moment on the guitar became a part of his life.

Mark studied at the Rotterdam Conservatory (Codarts) where he completed two studies: 2003 – 2007 ‘Performing Musician’ and 2009 – 2011 ‘Bachelor of Music in Education’.

He played in Knight Area for years and recorded 4 albums with this band. During this time he wrote 2 instrumental guitar solo albums with Peter Vink on bass and Pieter van Hoorn on drums. They performed as the supporting act Greg Howe, Tony Macalpine and Mattias Eklundh (Freak Kitchen). In 2019 Magoria – JtR1888 was born; Mark worked for 3 years on this Rockopera about Jack the Ripper, worked with 15 very talented singers/musicians from the Netherlands and recorded a double album. The last two years he also joined the rock/fushion group G30 with drummer Juan van Emmerloot and guitarplayer Brian Bordes.

Besides being a band member Mark also appeared as a session guitarist. In 2018 during a masterclass he played with Steve Vai and in 2019 with John Petrucci (Dreamtheater) at the Sena Guitar Awards.
