"TOTALLY JAMMIN’"

This guitar is a much more modern take on the highly popular AS semi-hollow design. Seen primarily in the Artcore series today, the AS has always served as the perfect hybrid for styles ranging from jazz, blues and all the way to rock. This custom is heavily influenced by the status and history of the AS and remains largely true to that, but the addition of multi-scale construction, upgraded pickups, and a slightly offset design, take this time-tested stalwart to a whole new level. The first and most noticeable difference to other Ibanez AS models is the multi-scale construction. The spread on scale lengths is 24.75” on the high E and 25.5” on the low E. The benefits offered are ergonomic as well as tonal. The design affords the player a more predictable and responsive feel and the shorter scale length on the higher strings imparts a touch of warmth, while the longer lower strings project with a clear and articulate voice. Other standout features of this custom instrument include an African Mahogany/Walnut 3pc neck, bound Madagascar Rosewood fretboard, a carved Swamp Ash top, and two Bartolini humbuckers. This instrument also employs one more, very unique construction method: the body actually utilizes chambering rather than traditional semi-hollow construction, which affords tighter, more defined low-end response.

CARVED IN TONE

One of the primary traditional specifications of this instrument, the top of this guitar is made of book matched Swamp Ash that was meticulously hand-carved to achieve its final shape. Swamp Ash is an unusual top wood for a semi-hollow guitar, but offering inherent brightness and resonance, it serves as a brilliant choice for players who want a hollow body with some additional, energetic top-end.

MULTI-SCALE MARVEL

The true centerpiece of what makes this instrument most unique, multi-scale construction, merges improved articulation and responsiveness of modern guitars with the warmth, dynamics, and expressiveness of a traditional semi-hollow, while also delivering an exceptionally distinctive looking guitar.

PICKUP & GO

Offering an uncommon look and highly flexible sound, the Bartolini PBF-49 neck and PBF-51 bridge pickups supply a full palette of sounds capable of covering everything from warm, intricate jazz licks to the highest intensity rock rhythms. Their inclusion was intended to supply articulation as well as versatility, and they deliver both spectacularly.
