"RG-GT"
The use of carbon fiber on guitars is not exactly new, but to this day, it still remains rare and unusual due to the cost, time and skill involved in working with the material. Most often, carbon fiber is used in neck construction for its unparalleled stability and extreme long-term durability. However, for this build, the Japan Custom Shop team opted to throw this concept into hard reverse and design a guitar with a carbon fiber top and rear body cap along with a traditional wood neck. It invokes the sleek design of a Formula 1 race car, and its looks and vibe will appeal to any fan of auto sports. The end result is an RG7 that marries the traditional silhouette of the iconic RG with a heavy dose of hard-hitting modern aesthetics, including a heavily blacked-out color-scheme. Primary themes of this instrument are patterns and textures and the top of this RG7 displays familiar carbon fiber cross threading, while the sides of the body and headstock are creatively enhanced with a striking honeycomb pattern.
