Ibanez: You've been playing guitar a long time...what influenced you to pick up the guitar, and were their particular musicians you looked up to? : Kiss and Ozzy. "Crazy Train" clinched it though. Back then I loved Van Halen, The Scorpions, Loudness, Yngwie Malmsteen etc.
Ibanez: Can you give us some background on Mushroomhead and describe the band to a reader who may not know too much about your music? : The band is a hybrid of metal, progressive, rock...you name it. Everyone is into different things. That's why the bands sound is so unique.
Ibanez: There are lots of guitar brands to choose from. from. What drew you to Ibanez?\r\n : I've owned just about everything, but my Ibanez always seemed to come through for me show after show. A true work horse.
Ibanez: Tell us a bit about your extensive Ibanez collection. Which are your favorites? : Let's see...I have three custom 7-string RG's, three Universe's, four modified RG 7's, and AX7, an 80's Destroyer and an 80's Roadster modified to be just like an Yngwie Strat. I love them all for different reasons.
Ibanez: What does your current rig consist of (amps, pickups, etc..)? : Randall Titans, Overdrive and Noise Surpressor pedals and DiMarzio pickups.
Ibanez: Can you tell us a bit about your upcoming Mushroomhead release? : Well it's untitled at this point, but i can honestly say that this is by far the best Mushroomhead record....ever!
Ibanez: You're currently on tour with Hed Pe. Do you have any favorite places to play, and why? : Machine Shop (Flint, MI). Aside from that, any place with a shower and good places to eat!
Ibanez: What are the best/worst parts about being in a rock band? : Creating killer tunes and playing shows make it fun. Putting some cash in your pocket ain't bad neither. Being away from home, label politics and typical band drama can really lower morale!
