In the words of one of our endorsers: "The RG is the one all the others try to be." Twenty-five years later, the instrument simply becomes more and more iconic.
As the 7 and 8-string guitar world grows, there may appear to be two opposing poles: The jazzers, who utilize the three-octave fingerboard to open up previously unavailable harmonic possibilities. The other, the down-tuned metal/djent players who use the extra lower string to vibrate the internal organs of all God's creatures great and small. Without a doubt the RG is the weapon-of-choice for that later group, but it's also worth noting that the superior playability of Ibanez 7, 8 and 9s is inspiring players to melt genres and mold sound anew.
