Twenty-five years and rockin' harder than ever, the Ibanez RG has become a modern metal icon. One
of our recent endorsers recently said it best: "The RG is the one all the others try to be."
As the 7 and 8-string guitar world grows, there may appear to be two opposing poles: The jazzers, who
utilize the three-octave fingerboard to open up previously unavailable harmonic possibilities. The other,
the down-tuned metal/djent players who use the extra lower string to vibrate the internal organs of all
God's creatures great and small.
Without a doubt the RG is the weapon-of-choice for that later group, but it's also worth noting that the
superior playability of Ibanez 7 and 8s is also inspiring players to melt genres and mold sound anew.
